FRAGMENTS OF AN OPALESCENT CONSCIOUSNESS. PART I

FRAGMENTS OF AN OPALESCENT CONSCIOUSNESS

I look and I saw: great structures where being built by a huge number of people, kind of pharaonic canalizations in polished stone of a very large extension to have water flowing over earth, with some smaller derivation on the sides of the main canalization as to built a kind of network to have the water flowing in different direction: I was really astounded for the greatness of the work and the general atmosphere of it, plus the immense number of people involved in that operation, then my intuition told me it was not real water but rather water/consciousness, those were canalizations for the consciousness to be spread over earth at a certain point of its history, in future times, when people would have understood the power of gathering together to consciously collaborate with the master plan of  the Divine, represented by a symbolic Pharaoh who seemed directing that large enterprise. I had the clear conviction that all that was in conformity  with what Sri Aurobindo said about the unfolding of the consciousness over earth, a consciousness which needed a new and greater network so to be effectively established on earth.

…

While the physical body slept I see a large tent mounted below some trees, I open the curtain at the entrance and I see Sri Aurobindo and Mother sitting, she is at his left side, both dressed in white as I know they would when giving a darshan at the ashram. They are staring silently at me while I am overpowered by the tremendous vision, because they really seem alive in their full Presence.

At the entrance there is a piece of paper on the soil with what looks like a message written with a pencil and I read: “ When you finish with your little initiations then you will receive Initiation”.

It of course is a personal matter, my little initiations in human relations, my studies on plants and a collaborative way to relate with them, even with drugs proceeding from plants, and a large etcetera, but it has a wider meaning which can be applied to people in general, meaning people practicing yoga, which at some extent are involved in “little initiations”, as for them too, when the time has come and the little initiations reach an end, would receive Initiation. Which is why I make this vision known,  to reflect about it, about our little initiations and how far or how close they take us to the real Initiation, which as it seems, will came from both Masters when we are following at some extent their yoga as a purpose in life, and certainly I make this known not to claim any special power or whatever, nor for the need to satisfy an ego claiming for attention on itself, as for sure, I´m rather interested of what Mother and Sri Aurobindo think about my progress in their yoga than any comment coming from whomever read these my notes. If something, I openly recognize certain natural disposition to have visions, in meeting people known or unknown to me in subtler levels of consciousness, guides or instructors, and I can say as Mother did: “ In life, the most precious things are among those you do not see with your physical eyes”. (Mother's Agenda, November 8, 1969)

When the series of encounters with Sri Aurobindo and the visions he  allowed me to witness for sharing where about to end I did not see him physically anymore but felt him as an invisible Presence at my side, it lasted a few days more and it was quite regular.

Just before opening my eyes at morning, I would see a large flat stone which was in front of my water mill and at morning that stone were bathed by the morning sun, then I would feel his Presence and see myself sitting on that large flat stone and he would always and only talk about “this consciousness” and its characteristics, He never used such terms as Supermind or Overmind, but simply said “this consciousness”. I frankly don’t remember now any of these conversations but the final phrase which would put an end to our meetings, and the final phrase it was: “Remember, nobody will be excluded by this consciousness”. These conversations lasted some three or four days, always at the same time before opening my eyes at morning, then a definitive silence signed the end of that experiences with him, at least for a season, because in the following years I had several occasions to enjoy again of his Presence, both in visions or a particular message which like everything else before, was meant to be shared and not for my own benefit. This message I put in my blog which describe my experiences with him, I mean, that series of meetings and visions that after his own will were required to be made public to reach the general audience but especially those practicing his yoga, but I will give it here again in this new series for the ones which have not read it yet.

The Book of the Divine Mother IV

The Yoga of the Mother

First of all we cannot direct a yoga of the Mother.
The Mother herself is doing her yoga in ourselves.
It is mainly a path of submission.
Not everybody is willing to give up entirely oneself for the expression of the Mother, give it for sure.
The hard work of submission is rarely understood.
It is not for everybody though is the path of everybody.
To give up oneself for the expression of the Mother is the last offering, after that there is nothing else you can give, you gave it all, and you entered the holy path of the Mother.
She wants to see you naked as she made you before to decide what to do with you.
But if you made the last offering none can blame you.
So you left firm soil behind you, daring steps on emptiness don´t you?
What you wanted to achieve that the Mother can´t achieve for you?
Yes, you are right, you look at emptiness with the eyes of the Mother.

*************

You perfectly know it is the Age of the Mother.
If you studied the references of the Teaching you know it is the age of the Yoga of the Mother.
If you studied Sri Aurobindo you know is the Mother who does the yoga in you,
if you read the books of Agni Yoga you know there is a whole book on the Age of the Mother.
It is the Age of Synthesis and all synthesis always lead us on the path of the Mother, because her tender heart is what underlays all existence.

***********

Truly, it has always been the age of the Mother, only, the human being had not been aware of it.
Now they can sum up to the concert of beings which are already and since long waited for the incorporation of the human being into the adventure of the Mother-Consciousness on earth, the only great experiment in play in this universe, because from distant and veiled realms the Mother in the course of the Ages reveals herself to the creatures, and this is the age when the creature first open the eyes on the holiness of  the divine purpose in the universe.

***************

You have walked the lonely mountain paths while the breeze carried the scent of the plants and trees, while the birds sang a new song on the unscreened pages of the daylight.
You saw the mountain top wrapped in white clouds as an ara for the offering of the gods.
You saw the whole Nature summed up in a silent effort of ages of greening bare soil,
as the making of a poem untold in centuries.
You saw the potent majesty of an opalescent sky of emptiness on everything and you leaned before it, and you felt in your fibers the Age of the Mother is here and now.

The Prophecy and the blue sky after death

A blue mental world and beings to which Mother often referred, and "the blue sky after death" of Dharma Sangha have more then one reason to be similar.
Let´s briefly consider that D.S. didn´t need to die to talk of a blue sky after death, he is talking of something perceivable while in life.

What is sure, it is that within the context of prophecy and symbolic language, a distinction is made -and has to be kept in account- between "inner skies" and "outer skies".
Many prophecies, but I wish to consider here only one, the Apocalypse of John, are referring to events which a great deal happen in inner spaces and inner sky.

Were we expecting to read in the Revelation of John events to happen only or predominantly in outer sky, we would lose at least half the message.
We cannot reasonably expect to see a Dragon flying in the sky in the days of Revelation, but the Dragon could be a constellation or a symbolic element, a force, a concept, within our inner sky. It could be even...ourselves, or a darker part of each of us.
The fact remains, that inner blue sky is a reality.

Recently, a dear friend of mine which has sometimes premonitory dreams and visions told me of a recent one in which she saw clouds in the sky opening and a white horse appearing while the circle of clouds showed an intense blue sky.
The horse approached earth as flying in the sky (my friend is a fervent christian, so while she was seeing that overwhelming vision her mind remembered the words of the Bible: -And everybody will see Him-.
Then, the white horse while approaching earth and growing bigger plunged in a great lake of crystal clear waters.

She felt it was an objective vision, one which is meant as a general revelation instead of a more personal one,  the appearance of the white horse had a general value.
An objective presence.
The symbolic language of a vision is universal, the Kalki avatar appears in the sky on a white horse as much does it the Buddha Maitreya,  or the Christ of the Revelation.
It is real in the inner sky, unreal in the outer.
Unreal not as a fact, as a symbol.
We cannot transpose symbolic language into outer events, so in reading the Revelation, much is probably outer events, as the references to earthquakes, fire
in the sky and on earth, water rising or humans dying, are too many to refer -always and only- to inner events, but a great deal of it is to happen "within" our inner world and sky.
In fact, there is something which cannot be denied: everyone which reads the Revelation of John may not understand it, but none has a feeling it´s untrue.
Everybody feels it "has to be true" in a way he she cannot understand, but the language itself is over and far exceeding the level of doubts.
It is "true in itself".

We considered the possibility that John  was actually seeing events related with the same light Sri Aurobindo spoke of, the Supermental Light, a reason enough to require a deep transformation of human conditions of living and perceiving reality.

We have been even considering if the boy of the Vision of Mother and the apocalyptic times described in the very vision of Mother could be related events.

We perfectly know  the very first discourse of D.S. after years of silence, where words of warning for this world.

We should not expect to be continually warned, because once the vision has spoken, what remains is the time left to be accomplished whether we know it or not,  because a true vision will always accomplish itself.

Mother and Dharma Sangha: reflections

As a Master that She was, Mother was accurate in the choice of her words, below we can read a sentence from her 2nd Vision which I wish to bring to your attention:

..."what a man at the height of his strength would find hard to achieve if he were alone, a child can accomplish almost without difficulty if he is sustained by the power and love of those who are one with him".

To refresh you memory, Mother is talking of a Vision she had, she is describing a boy, almost a child venturing himself alone into the wilderness under the moon light fearlessly. It must be somewhere in Asia around the Himalaya, so it must be jungle and tigers and wild beasts.

Surely Mother is seeing a boy determined to meditate in the jungle, and is saying that "what a man would find hard" (in the jungle, alone, no food, no shelter) "a child can accomplish" when: sustained by the power and love of those who are one with him".

Here rise a question: "who", are those "one with him"?
I think we would think about his parents and in general someone that knows him and accompany him with his thoughts and with his love.
But I think it do not answer the point of the Power.
Here is not speaking of a parental love but a love and power, none refers in such terms about the love of their parents.
So, who is sustaining him, is someone, more then one, which has not only love but power too.
Were we to suppose the boy has a human master somewhere, the sentence would read something like: ..the power and love of whom is one with him , but here it is clear Mother refers to more then one, all of them with power and love.

You know I´ve been proposing the possibility that Dharma Sangha could be the person in the vision of Mother, and if there is something which is really appealing and original in his teaching is the fact of the Sangha where that teaching has origin: a congregation of beings, as D.S. could quite substitute the I with US, because as he says, (and the very name "sangha" means that) his consciousness is kind of a "congregation of beings", the Holy Sangha of the Dharma.

There is very little possibility that all related to D.S. life is an achievement of late,
I mean, such a person surely has a long history of incarnations on earth and meditation, but this he said himself.
Awfully translated, somewhere we can read he says while meditating in the jungle about 2000 years ago he was killed by someone, realizing he had died only 75 days later. ( At about that same date another Great Master was killed in Palestine ).
So whomever is D.S., is not certainly current issue.
And such people, Great Masters which came on earth to do a Great Work, are never alone. Unseen around them there are invisible  benign presences which assist them.
Which results too from his very words.
So, one last question: was Mother seeing the Holy Sangha around Dharma Sangha?
Were those the powerful and loving beings which sustained the boy in the Vision of Mother?
You put the answer.

(I´m somehow critical on the present translation of his teaching, but here you can read some more information on his life and teaching http://www.etapasvi.com/en/ . It is a very complete page, though they do not represent the "official" organization around D.S.).
In conclusion, a renewed lecture of the text of Mother´ Visions has brought me to consider, aside of the fact that D.S. and "the boy" of her vision have great possibilities of being one same person, that we are possibly living in a very transcendental moment, as Mother linked the presence of that boy on earth with very momentous events.

News from the Nepali Sangha

We are so glad that Mark, our subscriber has finally reach his destination in Nepal and he is now with Dharma Sangha and the Sangha there, we reproduce his mail here for whom had not chance to read it, it is dated 23 June 2012.
We really hope for some fresh heart-felt news from there, I like the willing disposition of Mark of whom I heard was already giving english classes in the nearby village!...

(Mark): "There are so many maitri hearts following Maha Sambodhi Dharma Sangha. Not all can be here in Sindhuli. I did mention this last night with Brother Michael Dorje and Brother Jyampa Topchzien (sorry if spelling is wrong). Maybe we'll see a few more posts from people here in the jungle instead of "just me" :p I know how it feels to follow from such distance and to wonder how it goes for Guruji and the "Sangha in the jungle". I'll try to include some photos next time I'm here.

Some word pictures: The rivers here are flowing with rejuvenating energies and the jungle plants hug together to provide shade from the sun...And yet they leave us space to clear paths and building spaces. The Sangha animals are all happy and Chetty (the little white dog, sorry for spelling if it's wrong) is so funny and happy and friendly! There's some creations that not all will find appealing, but hey the bad with the good and the good with the bad. Ramro Cha (It is good/beautiful). The Sindhuli committee meet directly with Guruji to discuss the necessary issues. Lets us also include the committees and communities in our dedications and prayers, as well as all Sanghas? We take time to walk and talk and greet each other. Everything is fine. Guru is here and everywhere. I love Guruji and you all so much. The earth meets the sky in a small place and a big place at the same time and the greenness of the jungle and the ruddiness of the soil, the clear waters mixed with river rocks and soils wash us clean as we play and splash. We work and we play. In the jungle. I pray all Sanghas take time to splash. Maitri feelings in all we do, even for the voice that doubts and second thinks, the one that compares, criticizes and separates. Surely we love all parts with Maitri kindness?

With Maitri mindfulness we may now enjoy, and any parting from that will be temporary and fleeting as soon as we recognise and accept it. We may choose to ignore or embrace. For this one soul in the great soul-sea it only works to embrace and let it be and go at the same time.

May all that is holy and loving and kind be with you in your hearts always.

Birth of True Mental SincerityWith its birth the mind will understand that it is only an intermediary and not an end in itself.

Melampodium paludosum
Small single yellow compositae flower with a dark brown centre; borne in leafy cymes. A long-blooming perennial herb.

As I said in my previous post, I was led to believe that a "meditative condition" could be installed in our quotidian and could have as much value as sitting in meditation.
Jiddu Krishnamurty described an "immediateness" which was out of reach normally and an aspect of meditation, a "Here and Now" that could be inscribed into a meditative condition, the zen monk too enhanced the small daily activities as conducing to perception of Reality and Satori, so I had a certain ground and understood the reason why Sri Aurobindo wanted to extended his meditation through the day as a steady, unmovable condition. I was not emulating anyone, I had an urge, and perfectly understood that meditation had to be a "personal experience".

But I had not the easiness of the Silence Sri Aurobindo almost immediately had.
My mind was undisciplined, and I soon discovered sitting still in meditation was not an activity for me and I had to search for some solution.
There was not much that could be done, the only other worth solution was the Here and Now.
Even that at the beginning would not work or not completely, before I could realize it I was already somewhere else with my mind but here and now.
So I had to impose myself a certain "over-control", figuratively as someone observing the mind to take it back on the "here and now" whenever it distracted itself.
With the time I discovered always less necessity to remind the mind of the necessity of the here and now and it become almost a self-discipline of the mind, a self-assumed attitude which would present itself spontaneously.
What I gained was that the attitude was worth in whatever other circumstance, though at a certain stage I had not a clear control of it especially when dealing with larger mass of people, there I discovered I could be easily influenced by a certain "average distraction" to which I would easily connect or resonate with.

But I could observe even this fact could be progressively come under control.
I had not give up completely sitting in meditation. Sometimes I would, but it had something of spontaneous, I would sit only if I felt doing it, but never as an obligation.

Without noticing it in advance, or even knowing about it, later I discovered that this activity of the here and now, this observer always impartially and objectively present there at any time, had given way to another process in which, this observer in the surface tuned with or even overlapped a deeper inner being, and though at the beginning it was not a clear perception, with the time yes there was no doubt anymore that an inner, central being was there, and unwillingly, I had discovered that remaining in the here and now could finally produce an identification of the surface observer with that inner being, a progressive process of fusion, or even absorption into.
