THE VISION. RELATED FACTS II

During my experiment I was able to remain conscious in "conscious sleep" and as a result of it I was conscious too about my consciousness being an independent and autonomous center of perception that I called at that moment a "mental body", in other words, I made contact with the subtle physical, and as for my own experience at least, that mental body was at the same time or could wear a subtler body when in need of it.
It was in this subtler body that I often met Sri Aurobindo, but I'm convinced that the Master did a lot to help me, and after all "He came to me" unexpectedly, I was not thoroughly able to control my subtler experiences, it was a new set of experiences and I had not even idea that I could or would meet Sri Aurobindo.
In the course of my experiment I realized that sometimes there would be some kind of superimposed perception of the subtler body during the wake condition, it was not necessary anymore to have the physical body sleeping in order to feel the subtle body, but subtler perceptions would happen rather suddenly and unexpected with a previous quite condition of mind, a meditative attitude.
In the course of time this subtler perception grew steadily, it was possible living in the material realm having a subtler perception of it. I used to think of Sri Aurobindo as an "anchorage", whenever I focused my consciousness on the Master I was able to enter into a subtler perception of reality. I often used this means to understand the how and why my personal relation with the Master, and this subtler perception led me to remember how and when I met and served as a disciple at His feet.
In "Atem´s Notebooks" I present several akashic registers, in Number 2 and 3 I describe a Pharaoh. That Pharaoh was Sri Aurobindo in a previous life, and you may notice how concerned He was in trying to awake the real cult into the common people. My subtler perception explained me that I was (the soul in me was) the therapist which shows in both akashic registers: at that time a fervent disciple of the great Pharaoh.
While recalling to my memory my previous lives at His service, I realized I was again one of his disciples during Middle Age in Europe.
At that moment the Master was known as Stephen Harding, a saint hermit which is considered the founder of the Cisterciensis Order. But his greater work remains unknown and undervalued.
The facts are worth a closer look.
Stephan was a celtic soul, much like Bernard de Clairvaux, one of his disciple. Though Stephan was a monk of the official christian church, as a Celt he was grown up with the idea of a merciful Mother of the Universe, generous and caring with Her creatures. This belief was deeply rooted in Stephan´s soul, and was antithetical to a God depicted by the church at that time as a vengeful and angry masculine god. A divinity which everybody had to fear rather than love.
Through Bernard de Clairvaux (his main disciple) Stephen was able to insert the cult to the Merciful Mother into Christianity contra posed to the cult to the vengeful god.
Suddenly the cult to the Merciful Mother spread all over Europe, but the person at the root of this cult was the humble saint Stephen Harding.
When the Pharaoh asked what to do in order to awaken the real cult into the plain mind of his people, his next purpose as Stephen Harding was to awaken the real cult (the cult to the Supreme Mother) in Occident.
He was back in Orient, and as Sri Aurobindo he awakened there the real cult to the Mother, so that both Occident and Orient received the message to awaken to the reality of the universal  Mother. In fact, the whole of Sri Aurobindo teaching is centered on the existence of a divine universal Mother, which is the Mother of Yoga.
The very center of Auroville is the Matrimandir, the Temple of the Mother. So is the divine Mother the center of Sri Aurobindo's teachings.
In this way, the ancient Pharaoh united both Occident and Orient under a same cult, it was the natural unfolding of the purpose of the Pharaoh wishing to establish the real cult on earth. And the real cult could only be one: the cult to the divine Mother.
The ancient therapist was born again as Bernard de Clairvaux, again at the service of his Master.
Bernard was not only a server of his Master, but a server of the divine Mother too.
He came back on earth at Her service in an indian body known as Ramakrishna, a very known disciple of the divine Mother. Ramakrishna´s work about the unification of religions is well known to get into it here.
The divine Mother said to Ramakrishna that he would reborn again in Europe towards the middle of the XX century. Ramakrishna himself revealed it to his closer disciples, and his words were registered.
But how strange! Could the divine Mother and Sri Ramakrishna be both wrong on that point?
Nobody has ever heard Ramakrishna be here again, in Europe, in the XX century.
If that happened, this time he probably came unnoticed, doing his work at Her service but completely unknown. At the same time he would hold memories of being one of the long term Sri Aurobindo´s disciples and surely get in touch again with his Master.
This same person will reborn in Italy again, and will erect the first Ziggurat of the Modern Era.
These are not mental speculations, are soul truths which I pass onto you. It is my work to lift a bit the veil, and it is my work because in several lives I've been working and dealing with the faculty of Vision, a Vision which is amplified by the contact with Sri Aurobindo´s Consciousness. It is this training which allowed me to receive, hold and transmit the Vision which is at the base of this blog. When you open your door to subtle perception there is not any need anymore to trust me, you will know it all by yourself. You may surely meet Sri Aurobindo in the subtle physical, but to do that you need your own perception of your subtle body. Later on you will not need any longer to actually "see" Him, whenever you get in touch with "that consciousness" you will be with Him.

THE VISION. RELATED FACTS

The reader of this blog should know that it was not by my own will but Sri Aurobindo wish that I share the information here contained. The skeptical attitude of mind is not a yogic attitude, in yoga there is not any need of a skeptical attitude because that belongs to the lower mind, the yogic attitude allow us to know by "identification", and that identification can be so deep that we can almost live the experience as it were our own, or at least to connect with the same level of consciousness. If you have read enough from Mother and Sri Aurobindo you know I'm not telling you nothing new because they often said exactly that.

Basically, I was asked to share what the result of a prolonged contact with Sri Aurobindo consciousness, and that too was not by my own will or aspectative: it happened that I was the witness and the subject of a series of encounters with the Master, and during these I received information to share. The informations are of a different kind: some of them concerning historical akashic events of a very ancient time, in which we can appreciate how the human consciousness acted in several events, some of them bordering extinction of a whole human kind.

Other pages describe akashic registers of the future, I recollected them under the title "The Vision of Savitri". They are actual events to happen in a very next future or in a very far future, and that too related with the arboring of a new planetary consciousness which after a long period of planetary regeneration will give birth to the new, immortal kind of human being.

You should not consider that I was freely gifted by Sri Aurobindo of such plentiful series of visions to share with you: the necessary conditions required to witness and bear them had to be set with many efforts and during a considerable length of time.

Some pages describe exactly which kind of meditation allowed me to get into "conscious sleep" and finally into the perception of the subtle body,  that too was meant to be shared for your own interest and research. There are several pages concerning conscious sleep and subtle body, mental body or subtle physical. In all of them I describe my own experience of the subtle body, the only one I can describe in details.

The reason for that is, that we need the perception of the subtle body to have the opportunity to meet Sri Aurobindo in the Earth´ subtle physical.

At this regard you should remember that before leaving his physical body in 1950 Sri Aurobindo said to Mother that He would not leave completely but remain accessible in the subtle physical. In 1969 Mother described how often She would meet Sri Aurobindo in the subtle physical, and She assured us that Sri Aurobindo was very active there, in the subtle physical. You should not think that Sri Aurobindo is less active today then He was in 1969, and this blog demonstrates that Sri Aurobindo is still quite active, asking me to share the content of several visions.

This planet and the humanity with it is to undergo a period of a great crisis, much heavier than today, the visions that I share with you are a warning: be careful because the planetary crisis you are experiencing today is only the beginning of a much deeper crisis which will lead to the final disappearance of the previous model of unsustainable planetary growth.

A new consciousness need to be born in the humanity and for that to happen, humanity needs to be on the very verge of extinction before it realizes how dangerous it is to continue on the path of unsustainable living. We can only be grateful to Sri Aurobindo that his Presence is still here with us, unknowingly intervening in the manifestation of that new consciousness and avoiding the disaster to be of such magnitude to lead to effective planetary extinction.

What I'm sharing with you is relevant information Sri Aurobindo wanted you to know, I don't claim to be the message, I'm only the messenger and if something you owe me is the guarantee that whatever I describe I did as faithfully as I saw or heard from the Master.

For the italian reader but of general interest you should know that Sri Aurobindo has kind of special interest in that country.

In the next future in Naples it will be edified the very first Ziggurat of the modern era, it will be the first of his kind on the planet and this will be deeply connected with the subtle, unknown activity of the Master leading to a full manifestation of a divine Consciousness on Earth.

The concept of the whole building will be symbolized in its three pyramids superposed: the concept of an integral and harmonious healing and integration of Body, Mind and Spirit. This building will be edified at the very entrance of the old Naples, out of Portalba, it will occupy the space of the old hospital now functioning. The presence of the Ziggurat right in that place is also related to the esoteric activity it has traditionally taken place in that area, where famous or less known alchemists and Initiates had shelter and associated there, being the "Cappella di San Severo"  but an example of that activity or the house where Goethe was guest during his visit to Naples in 1787. At that time that whole area was an effervescence of new ideas or the sharing of esoteric truths among students and initiates. The city of Naples was a point of reference in Europe and a destination for esoteric studies, under the name of Partenope the city was since ancient times a crawl of knowledge and civilizations, together with their initiation rituals and sharing of esoteric knowledge. With the Ziggurat, Naples will regain that ancient protagonism it had during several thousand years, being again like a lighthouse on the european territory. Blessed will be that times for Naples, Italy and the whole Earth.

The Ziggurat will mean a further manifestation of Sri Aurobindo´work at a more concrete, physical level and at a wider range than a community (Auroville), it will be the first time ever that a municipality and a State enter into a conscious service to the purpose of the Mother, and in its layered symbolism the Ziggurat will be the temple of the Mother, much alike as the Matrimandir is the centre of Auroville: it will be a place of healing, where all knowledge regarding body mind and spirit will be reunited to favour the growth and health of a new humanity and a new meaning about our presence on Earth, it will facilitate whatever mean in order to re establish the health of the individual: acupuncture, yoga, ayurvedic or tai chi among new and old remedies will find a place there and will be used to restore health depending on the individual and his needs. In the three section of the Ziggurat  will be facilitated whatever needed at physical, mental or spiritual level in order to ensure an harmonious growth of the individual.

As Mother described, at subtler levels there is a different perception of time: past events have not fully disappeared and future events are already there anticipating their next manifestation. For this reason we can witness future events, because at the highest level all History melts into an eternal Now. Be merry, the Victory of the Light is already winned in the Mind of God, take care.

If I were to give an advice to the present and next generations I would suggest you to get out of the cities and try to be as much independent as you can about food, energy and shelter, it may come a day when you really need it. People in the cities may face harder times at this regard, and though not everybody may easily leave the cities, those in the countryside will be better prepared to face scarcity of food or energy lockdowns. The knowledge you get on intelligent surviving may be shared with other people in need of it when there will be a more relevant exodus towards the countryside and the need for a life in touch with Nature.

Be sure that whatever sincere step you take towards Sri Aurobindo, He will take steps toward you preparing the day of your final encounter with Him in the subtle physical.

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE VISION OF SAVITRI

Fifteen years ago I could positively consider I made some step in what is called integral yoga. Of course, it was not a product of my own judgment but rather the fact that, incredibly as it may appear, I met Sri Aurobindo.
During the year of my forced seclusion I met several times the Master and had some subtle vision of Auroville. In addition to it I was allowed to witness some early akashic registers of the humankind, pages lost forever for the history, of which only remain trace on the akashic registers. The sequence of the encounters with the Master was encumbered by a great vision of Savitri and chronological  sequences of future history on earth till a new man supplanted the previous species.

Bear it, you would know not of those inner experiences of mine unless I had been so required by the Master himself: if something, I only failed in finding better words to describe the beauty of the experiences and the deep joy of my heart and the bliss which overwhelmed me every time I met the Master.

In that unforgettable period of my life I discovered,  far from my own expectations, that the Master had been following my inner development: he knew me very well, to the point of considering me worthy of his presence and of carrying his  personal message to the destined public.

I was asked to share the content of the visions, and I assure you that when I accepted it, I had not the remotest idea of how difficult it could result, it was so full of intricate mysteries which kept me in solitary study during a number of years.

Beside, you can imagine which kind of effect may have on your whole life meeting such a Master: a real revolution, it comes to question everything in your life, but it gives also strength and confidence for the task ahead. Now I don't feel alone anymore in my spiritual quest because I know now that the Master is silently following my steps, as surely is following the steps of all those who have accepted the challenge of integral yoga with a sufficient degree of sincerity, aspiration and compromise.

The experiences with him, as you can read, demonstrates that the Master is quite aware in details of what happens in Auroville and elsewhere, and of people.

Please do not confuse me with the message because I do not advance any claim in this sense: I am not myself the message but only the messenger, and  you should consider me as a scribe which faithfully reported all the experiences which were meant to be of your knowledge.

I wish to underline here I know about integral yoga since forty five years now, though I never really considered myself as specially  fit for the task, and it is rather true the contrary;
for circumstances I have developed into something much like an independent mind and an independent researcher, never summing up myself to any existing doctrine or spiritual tendency etc. For those very reasons I had not a special motivation to consider Sri Aurobindo as my own guru though deeply respectful of his teaching, and yet, it was him which I met.

In a sense it is not of my concern -why- Sri Aurobindo wanted this material to be known to you: I did not ask him and he did not tell me. I may venture some hypotheses, but only the reader may know the answer.  I think there may be several reasons, not only one. Some of them I suggested here in my writings,  I think the material is mainly directed to people which has some connection with his teaching and recognize the terms employed, though I'm convinced that it is material for a wider audience.
In second instance, I think it is dependent on the personal receptivity of the reader.
Unavoidably the whole matter turns around experiencing with subtle body and subtler reality and the establishing of an intuitive knowledge, all subjects which arose the legitimate interest of any reader familiar to the Master´s teaching and anyhow interested in their own inner development. That is why I took special care in describing not only the meetings but how I experienced it and what I could feel while in my subtler physical body.

In no moment Sri Aurobindo told me that communicate the whole thing was going to be a simple task, so be tolerant with my efforts, his teaching ( at least his personal teaching with me I mean) results so ample in perspectives, takes in so many elements, that I suspect even myself which had the experience have never wholly understood it, nor I pretend to have said and discovered all that can be said and discovered about it.

I sometimes have found myself  in the need of interweaving the presentation of the original material with some personal experience or some collateral argument, you may not agree with some of my conclusion, but you are due not to doubt as far facts are concerned: all I relate here really happened, and I share them with the purest of the intention.

You are not due to necessarily believe in my experiences in conscious sleep or in a subtler physical reality.  I report them as faithfully as possible as to be matter of investigation for people with a genuine interest in them.
I apology if you found a better work of presentation could be made, but it failed the help of a dear collaborator which had the necessary technical knowledge.

The trajectory of my personal relation with Sri Aurobindo is not in question and subsidiary here in this work, I´m not meant to talk of it in details.

SUBTLE PERCEPTION

During the period I´m relating, a process  opened up on unexpected horizons.
I started to notice  that a subtler perception was occasionally superposing itself to my current sensory perception, I found it worth to mention it to leave its constancy for the researcher.

As always in these cases, at first I  kept such experiences under observation for a time, till a number of them could give me the idea of a process of its own.

Those episodes of subtle perception seemed to have their root in conscious sleep. This is what I want to enhance.
While in conscious sleep  -with my mental body totally awake- I clearly  perceived myself -as a mental body- absolutely independent from the physical, and even from the subconscious.

In that condition a new kind of perception arose, a perception which passed into myself with independence from the physical senses.
In conscious sleep and in the mental world, the mental body perceived everything in a more refined way, as it disposed of a "body of perception" with subtler senses, leading to a direct and irrevocable perception.

Now seemed that this kind of perception, those kind of subtler senses, were bubbling into the normal waking-perception too,  random appearing at any time.
Those subtler perceptions had start bubbling into the waking consciousness much as months before the mental body consciousness had start bubbling into the unconsciousness of sleep. They seemed two similar processes, at least, their mode was similar.

On one such occasion I got early morning in the street, there were an intense  smell of fresh roses, looking around for someone carrying roses I realized I could actually -see- the perfume, like a vaporous cloud floating in the air, which disappeared around the corner.
I followed the cloud smelling it to the corner, but just there, in the large plaza it had melted away.
But not the experience, now I realized  the body was enveloped within an "olfactory sphere", which roughly took from the chest till the sexual organs, with the navel as its center.
Every physical organ and biological process, even the most remote one, had there a terminal point, an "olfactory extension" of it.
Each biological smell  was conveyed there by kind of "subtle tubes" orderly aligned within the sphere with hundred of others, and all together summed up to my own corporeal smell.
I crossed toward the park with the hope of meeting a dog to see how he reacted to my olfactory sphere now that I could see it, but didn´t see any
dog around or even men, and little after the experience faded away and I was back to my "normal" (?) perception.

(As always in these cases, the experience came along with a certain  direct knowledge, in fact I could easily understand bigger tubes corresponding to the bone-process, or the blood-process, I even smell both of them, but due to my over-olfactory sensitivity of the moment I  felt almost disgusted by their intensity.
There were other tubes much thinner which produced  subtler, more refined essences, that knowledge told me that some of them related to the conditions and processes at molecular level).
( I consider it an objective experience since is not reasonable that only my body is enveloped by such a sphere, so everybody has such an "olfactory sphere" and if the practitioner could detect it and have a trained subtle perception of it, it could be developed as an healing science).

While in conscious sleep, I started to admit that those subtler senses were not really generated within the mental body but as they were, released by the soul.
It was more than a mental conviction but the fact that sometimes I experienced through them kind of -sacredness of perception- which kept me in touch with a deeper being provided of an holy understanding of the deepest roots of things. At some point the connection mental body-soul increased in closeness.

I had read enough (mainly from Sri Aurobindo and Agni Yoga) to be convinced that the soul had its own organs of perception, I started now  to experienced subtler replica for each physical sense, all administered by a central being whose perception exceeded its own subtler senses, a world of silent and certain intuition,  verily a body of intuition, as elusive as the subconscious appeared to be while in conscious sleep.

The Night of the Vision of Savitri

The night I met Sri Aurobindo and knew of His Vision the shift to conscious sleep had been specially smooth and easy: as soon as the body slept I was back in that peculiar condition in which one is completely awake but without the physical.
I recognized around me the now familiar blue of the mental world, a world without forms but hues of blue and sparks of white light, but this time at my side yes there is a form: alone in that deep blue a beautiful tower in stone like those of the Middle Age, and while looking at it I start levitating towards the summit.

In a few moments I am in a circular room with  an arched window on that mental sky and by the window an Indian Master  and a little group of disciples. Were not for their robes it could recall me Jesus Christ surrounded by his disciples for the evident divinity of the Master and the great reverence of the men.
The Master is bare feet and wears a doti, has long black hair and a body "magnified" that looks extremely healthy and strong and has the natural appeal of the divine manifesting in a human form, the disciples look at him with great deference,  some four or five young men, all occidentals.
They all seam entertained in a conversation which I interrupt with my sudden irruption, all turn smiling to me but the Master, which stares impassive into my eyes.
He is Sri Aurobindo,  in a form never captured by a photograph.

My subtle perception is increased and without uttering a word I understand they were waiting for me, called or admitted there, and the reason concerns a plan which the Master is laying down to the attention of the presents in the room. I feel welcomed and live in full plenitude the privilege to be there.

In that moment the Master leaves the group  approaching me, while he does I can better appreciate the divine beauty of his "body of glory" which was not so evident at the beginning.
When he stand close to me he has a glorious divine shape emitting such an intense radiation which has a deep impact on  the very atoms of my body, they seem as frightened by this unknown, tremendous source of energy and are trying to subtract themselves from its powerful influence.
I clearly feel that had the Master approached me a bit more my body would be disrupted and evaporate in a cloud of atoms.

I felt for some moment all the weight of that painful physical sensation, then the Master smiled and all the atomic structure is instantaneously re-polarized, now my atoms seem wishing to fuse with that energy and stirr their orbit as to get as close as possible.

His body, towering over me is somehow bigger then normal, and I can appreciate every single detail of his face and his black hair over the neck graciously entwined  with grey and white hair.
His eyes absolutely divine, his face expressing all the power of the transmutations he underwent, I can guess in his features the divinized man which has won many battles and can lead whole generations, I felt one could follow him in any enterprise with blind faith in a safe outcome and a victory.

When he spoke I distinctly heard his voice as coming from both outside and from within he was asking  me about facts in my life which supposed he was fully aware of my personal life.
I felt an intimate deep connection while we silently stared each other in the eyes, then he spoke again saying:- I wish you do something for me.

My reaction is so instantaneous that he smiles under his moustaches: he didn´t finished his words that I have already innerly joined both hand in a silent acceptance.

He could have asked me anything, even my life if necessary and have me ready to lay it down for him, I only wanted to fulfil his wish.

"I had a dream", he continued, and while he said this I started to see the images of his dream. A powerful vision which narrated of the evolution of the consciousness on earth till a distant future, when the planet is fully populated only by Initiates.

The Hour of the Toiling Gods

(follows to "The Hour before the Gods Awake")

The article* on Sri Aurobindo I mention in the previous post  had the strangest story an article could have. Beside that it required a subtle visit to Auroville together with the Master, it acted like the dissolvent for all my doubts and restorer of my peace of mind, moreover it was born in such unusual way deserving to be counted because it shows some of the activities we can entertain with in the mental world, and testifies on the existence of mental beings on such a level, as Mother repeatedly mentioned to Satprem.

One night, as soon as my body fell asleep, I "woke up" on the other side.
I only lost consciousness for a few moments while the body fell asleep, from that moment on, the physical body continued to sleep while I remained awake. At all the effects, I had never fall asleep. I knew exactly who I was, I didn't loose any cognition of my identity. I was as to say, a body of consciousness, my mental faculties were all there, intact in the transition, but now with an additional conscious acquaintance and access to a limitrophe condition of being and space of existence.  The mental world.

Though not familiar with that condition, I knew already enough for not fearing it, I had grown accustomed to it.

This necessary introduction doesn't make any justice to the speed of the whole process, because within instants, as soon as I was in conscious sleep I unwillingly started to ascend within a blue mental atmosphere charged with a whitish fog everywhere, till I remained suspended in the middle of nowhere.
I concentrated all my attention around and through that fog but there was anything else but that blue mist.
Then, an inner injunction as a silent voice alerted me to focus better.
I didn't know it could be possible to focus better in that conditions but I did. For a moment there was something as an invisible swirl at the level of my eyes which pierced the fog, then suddenly I saw them.

It was a circle of beings not far from me.
They were handsome and seemingly entertained in some unknown activity of their own because they were not distracted by my sudden appearance.
They looked all male, with long black hair till the base of the neck, all dressed with a blue robe which left their right arm uncovered as the Buddhist monks, or rather, as the ancient gods in Renaissance paintings or Greek representations. Even the color of their skin was but a whiter shade of blue.

They looked as gods or higher beings, certainly of a very noble nature, and they seemed at ease levitating in the middle of nowhere.
At first I felt somehow embarrassed to present myself uninvited, and for a brief instant I didn't know what to do.
But a moment later I heard a warm telepathic welcome from all of them at the unisone and the invitation to join the group.

In that fog I had not many options left so I joined that unfamiliar group of six or seven, sitting among them within the circle while discovering I had instantly acquired the faculty to be in telepathic contact with each of them.
In that new condition of perception, I could appreciate that in spite of their physical similarity, inwardly they each had quite a different and exquisite personality.

Their main interest was an object floating in the middle of the circle.
At first sight it looked like a seed of a plant big as a dish, open in two halves.
But soon my attention was attracted by one of them saying something like: "At this point having we said that, we  should also say...(don´t remember the exact words), and while talking, he made a gesture with his right arm uplifted and "taking the mental concept from high", descended the arm toward the seed and with a mudra of his fingers he placed the concept into the seed.

"But then", said another one "if we say this, we should also add... (again don´t remember the exact words, but he does a similar gestures as the previous one, till a number of them expresses their opinion).

At this point it had become clear that these beings were mental beings* and were dealing with thoughts and concepts, they could create coherent lines of thoughts, they seemed having access to a kind of invisible "mental reservoir" of concepts of different kind, dealing with them with an absolute coherence which I could clearly follow, and then put them into the seed.
So at that point the seed itself attracted my attention, and I focused on it better.

What had looked like a seed, looked now a typewritten page, and for a few moments I asked myself how was it possible that amid all such beauty and perfection, things could not be better arranged than presenting a page seemingly written with an old typewriter with some letter out of line!
Me too had an old one with that same regretful defect.
I made an extra effort in order to focus exactly on the sense and meaning of the written page, but then, I could not avoid a sudden and deep surprise!

The written page was exactly an article of mine on certain aspects of the integral yoga (of Sri Aurobindo) which I myself was writing at that moment! And the letters out of line I detected on the page were those of my own typewriter!

That sudden incredible awareness made me literally fall down quite abruptly back into my body again, waking up immediately with a jump.
I ran to my article, the page was still on the roller of the typewriter in all similar, even in the defects of issue!

That morning, while I sat again to my table in front of the typewriter with the intention to conclude the article, my mind went again to that unknown fellows of the mental world, I asked myself if they were invisibly around me.
Till then I believed to be the original and only author of the article, but now it seemed other beings had taken part in writing it!
                                                           *********************
*I was asked if the article is still available and which was the subject. I don't think it is available anymore nor I own any copy of it anymore, but I remember it faced the argument of death as optional in the development of the supermental consciousness and I advocated for a future immortality.

*For their look and behavior and for the situation in itself, later I found a similar reference from Mother (Mira Alphassa) when she mentioned a bluish being at the back of Satprem (see Agenda), which she identified as a Muse, incidentally Satprem was at that time writing a book on integral yoga.

The Hour before the Gods Awake

Slowly the sun set and the shadows of the night grew darker, and with the night, the restoring sleep to put a parenthesis to my doubts.  At least,  that was what I expected.
The night before, I had seen Sri Aurobindo and he did show to me a great vision, and the most rational part of my mind was corroded by the doubt it had only been a powerful hallucination.

As soon as the body fell  asleep I  found myself in the subtle body experiencing as  fast moving, as moving through space at incredible speed.
The travel ended up in India, I immediately recognized the light of  the indian noons, I was  physically in India several times before and nothing could have me wrong on that point.
Moreover, I knew with certainty I was in Auroville, though  nothing could avail such foreknowledge.

My subtle body had just appeared in a room at the back of a man sitting at a table by the window.
I was at a time uncomfortable to violate his privacy while quickly thinking why I was there at all.  The next moment, Sri Aurobindo appeared at my side.

I was extremely delighted and surprised to see the beloved Master so soon again, and opened my mouth to welcome him  but he put one finger on his lips  while silently signaling the man.

Feeling authorized to investigate I moved at a side and over the shoulder of the man.  Must have been south-European. He was reading.
In approaching him I immediately perceived an unpleasant psychological atmosphere surrounding the man, a suffocating aura that made me almost sick in spite of being in my subtle body. I immediately realized how harmful could be for the defenseless mind of a child being in touch with that invisible, though poisonous aura.
I telepathically learnt he was analyzing an article on Sri Aurobindo, and somehow his aura appeared overcharged with a great self-esteem, he made ostentation of a high mental appreciation of the Master -and- of himself as unerring interpreter of the Master's  thoughts.
He actually had a quite inquisitive reading of the article, searching for incriminating sentences to condemn.  He was visibly not interested at all in the ideas there presented but only interested in what could be wrong and heretic in his opinion.
It clearly appeared a more than erroneous approach because  it spread all around him that insufferable mental atmosphere.

Ironically, even if he appeared quite bent to intellectually recognize a high value to the teaching of the Master, he had no perception at all of the presence of the Master at his back, and in no moment did he show any degree of awareness of our presence, he continued instead undisturbed in his activity.

I turned my eyes toward the Master to assure myself my perception were correct and I was concentrating on the things he wanted to call my attention on: silently reassured on it  I leaned over the shoulder of the man in order to see what he was reading, and...oh surprise!
He was reading the same article  I had written months before!
I had quite a lot to be surprised with!
I had literally my mouth open but no sound coming out of it, too many questions crowding on my lips at the same time.
I turned again and stood silently observing the Master in his beautiful eyes waiting for a clarifying answer, but he kept his gaze into mine without uttering a single word, only, he made a single gesture with one of his hand as to say: "This is what you have here".
At the next moment we departed and I woke up in my body again in Europe.

My article had been published in a new age magazine which I sent to a dear friend in Auroville. I had to suppose he gave the magazine to read at  the questioning european man.

If I wanted to solve my doubts about the Vision, now with this subtle visit to Auroville the Master himself was giving me a good chance to verify it.

I had only one thing to do: get physically to Auroville and ask the friend of mine if such and such a man had had any chance to read my article, and if he was in Auroville, try to see him. If that man did not exist then I could quite forget all the story and put at the same time a final point to my spiritual researches as evidently useless and harmful to my mental welfare, but if the man existed, I was  one of the protagonists of the most incredible story I ever imagined to mix with.

So I did.
I took a plane and went to Auroville decided to shed some light on the subject.
Having familiarity with my friend, I informed him of the visits of the Master, told him about the vision of Savitri and how much it had affected my mental tranquillity with the suspect I was growing insane, and I finished relating the experience in my subtle body in Auroville with the Master, confiding him my extreme need of discovering if the experience had been authentic or it was just pure imagination.
Then my friend asked me to describe the man reading the article.

"Oh, yes", said him with a large smile after attentively listening to my scrupulous description of the individual, "You described X. In fact, X has been here as a guest, and I perfectly remember to give him the magazine with the precise purpose  he could read your article, which was written in his own language.  He is now at Y... (and said the name of a community in Auroville).

I felt immediately released by the heavy doubts which had been constantly drilling my mind during the last months, and a wide peace installed in their turn. I was not crazy after all or suffered from hallucinations, I could continue to trust my spiritual experiences and now I had a surprising task ahead.

Back in Europe, I was confronted with some facts of which I could not negate the evidence anymore: if the last experience with Sri Aurobindo in Auroville was authentic, and it was because the man existed, then all the other meetings with the Master had been authentic, as they all happened during the same period at the watermill.
Beside the first one, which had been quite a physical meeting, all the remaining happened while I was in my subtle body, and as a consequence, my perception of the subtle body was correct and authentic too, though difficult to prove objectively.
And If the experiences with the Master were true, then also what he showed me (the future of the earth) had to be considered true and meaningful, as well as what Sri Aurobindo told me in that occasion.
In fact, a moment before to show me the images of the future earth, he told me: "I wish you do something for me".
And were exactly these words I had the most urgent need to verify: really the Master wanted me to do something for Him? I would not imagine I could be of any help, how could a perfect unknown render a service of such a kind when there were more famous commenters or disciples in the Ashram or in Auroville that would have been more easily trusted on. Why then expressly me?
But no alternative remained but to accept the facts as they were.
So that truly the Master had invested me with a requirement.
He had established a personal relation with me!
The gladness melted my heart any time I thought of it, and yet he left me without saying exactly what he expected me to do for him, I guess I had  space to decide.
He left me some clue: the article I wrote had been a recurrent item in different experiences, I had nowadays a tendency to write, so possibly it could be related with his request.

The very experience in the subtle body in Auroville at the side of  the Master  had alerted me on how my writings could be received by certain people in the occurrence I would make them public. If I was going to write about the Vision I had not to wait always a warm and indiscriminate welcome.

Conscious sleep and brilliant parrots

The brilliant parrot may think of himself as a brilliant mind, but no mind is brilliant unless is a humble mind.
The humble mind is not a simple or simplistic mind, but a penetrating edge which becames humble by seeing the immensity of the Wisdom Love and Power which rules the manifold universe providing life to all the millions and millions of living being as well a suitable and eternal law for its numberless processes.

So that normally a brilliant parrot mentioning at ease numberless books and dates and happenings may quite have little of his own to put together to what he suppose to know, because when we came to yoga and namely integral yoga, it would be worth mentioning what one has really learnt instead of what he brilliantly memorised.

Anybody may realize the danger which such kind of mind may carry to itself or others, because when faced to unknown or untold experiences or happenings, that brilliancy suddenly disappear incapable of seizing its true meaning or else, providing a  necessarily wrong interpretation.

I´m not here to please anyone nor I care what followers and students of Sri Aurobindo may think of the experience with the Master I relate, none is taking out of me what has rooted in the depths of my being, I only regret for them for not having been able to trust, understand and possibly enlarge their vision or their understanding.

But things are such, that they suppose to bring a great deal to the understanding of integral yoga, they may have lot of followers and readers of their blogs which positively sanction their writings, but ultimately that is simply their own conviction and nothing else, because  mental pride is not alien to such brilliant parrots.

So I prefer people which sincerely talk of their difficulties in experiencing say, conscious sleep, instead of those who can make a brilliant resume of what they read, but add nothing of their own experience on the matter.

It should be realized that experiencing conscious sleep means necessarily a great deal of work on oneself, not just a lucky chance or an isolated event, because the one who experience conscious sleep understand at the same time that he/she is bridging his consciousness through the whole day and night and is going to open his subconscious to the transforming power of the Mother, and in order to do that, Mother has accepted their offering of themselves.

I´m not saying here that not experiencing conscious sleep necessarily relate to unevoluted subjects, but what I mean is that in order to successfully bridge one´s consciousness he/she has necessarily to experience conscious sleep because it is a necessary step to proceed forward in opening and integrally  transform  even their unconscious mind as a part of the whole process of transformation.

And in integral yoga is not what one has memorized which will bring him any farther but only what he has actually experienced, and when they meet someone who has done the effort, should be humble enough to recognize it, not for the satisfaction of the latter but for the mental health of the former.

I´m quite conscious that my experiencing  conscious sleep has taken the work farther in deeper levels of myself, I sense that the experience is working on my subconscious and ultimately this subconscious would disappear or better be transformed in ways I myself have not yet understood at present time.

None should forget that the integral transformation proposed by Sri Aurobindo is intimately related to what the Master himself told about it: that the effort made by others will make it easier for the following ones, and this necessarily means that the experience may not present itself in the same exact way it was previously experienced.

So per necessity it is useful to know what it has became of such experiences as conscious sleep after the lapse of time separing us from the disappearance of the Masters.

What will you do with my experience? Will you think of me as an integral clown because I feel entitled to freely talk about it, or will you get the chance to seize on it and go even farther?

Atem´s Notebooks subtle body

March 2002

A peculiar activity of the subtle body

It was more and more frequent to awaken in the subtle body while the physical was sleeping, in that peculiar condition which is called  conscious sleep.

As a new experience that it was, I would observe whatever detail of these experiences, and that night I got interested in the activity of the subconscious.

I was observing a dream  projected on a screen made of mental substance, much alike  a movie on a large screen. I was just a witness, as a spectator at a cinema show.
I was perfectly conscious it was not myself to produce the dream, but an almost unobservable elusive part of me, my subconscious, which I felt and saw as a strange
animal kind of mind attached at the bottom of my conscious part.

The dream had affinity with another one which I dreamt years before, so I decided to search for the previous dream, which in that very moment I vaguely remembered.

While the dream was going on and a part of me was following it, another part split to search in a  kind of dream´s archives, where all the previous dreams were orderly contained much as books on shelves.
I was not surprised, I felt such activity was relative to the actual possibilities of a subtle body, in its  own environment it had quite some peculiarity, but it intrigued me mostly because I had never done it before and notwithstanding, I knew perfectly what to do and how to do it.

I started monitoring previous dreams on a smaller screen which appeared instantaneously at my side, I did it several times, about six or seven, searching and watching  the beginning of the dream or running it at higher speed,  and during all the time, I never lost contact with the "main" dream, it continued unfolding itself in front of my mind´s eyes.

Then, I finally found what I was searching for, I put it on the smaller screen so to compare them. At that moment, I was witnessing at two dreams at the same time: one of them just being produced by the subconscious, and the other, just the result of a volitive action on my side.  In fact I realized both dreams shared a similar "atmosphere": there was not any personage or places, it was just changing shades of colours charged with a peculiar note of poetry, as witnessing a beautifully moved sunset in the sky, and that atmosphere was pretty similar to both the dreams.

I followed them at the same time till the end, then I lost interest  and I moved away within a blue mental atmosphere, a blue kind of space where I felt very comfortable.  As a mental being, I felt it as my own environment, of which daily consciousness was unaware of.  I felt the necessity to build bridges of consciousness through the whole of the time,  that would necessarily meet with changes in sleep, which I was already noticing, I felt the subconscious had to be somehow  domesticated, colonized, opening it up  to some unknown force, and unknown process.

Clarifying the Vision: Conscious Sleep

The experience of conscious sleep has been told a difficult task, and certainly one has to agree with that.
I went in it almost spontaneously and without great efforts, and being myself an observer I realized that were not for certain given conditions it would have been almost impossible to achieve.
In fact I realized that whenever that conditions changed, the capacity to experience
conscious sleep changed automatically.
To start with, before experiencing conscious sleep I had resided some three years in a natural environment. A convinced macrobiotic, my diet was basically vegetarian and used water from a local spring, I was active and often took sun bathes, exposing the body to the action of the elements, earth included under the form of clay.
This promoted a process of constant regeneration which I felt as an almost inexhaustible physical energy, a conspicuous peace of mind and emotions, and even my sleep changed, I could sleep four or five hours and feel completely restored, waking up with an extremely clear mind and a calm strength of the body.
Due to a fortuitous accident to an eye I applied Aloe Vera and I would quite often end by rubbing my body with the remaining pulp of the plant and even eating it.
I discovered that eating the pulp of the plant increased my clearness during sleep,
it had an evident influence in promoting lucid dreams, as I had become somehow more conscious during sleep, at wake could easily recall in full details any dream I had.
Farther researches in Ayurveda and elsewhere corroborated my assumption that the plant could have a beneficial influence on the brain and in all its conscious or subconscious activities, and I wonder if it could be beneficial in such cases as Alzheimer.
Obviously one doesn´t need to repeat exactly the described conditions, but whenever I tasted meat, had alcohol or increased the use of industrial food, it proportionally increased a certain dumbness of mind before sleeping and at wake, coming to the conclusion that the use of such substances may be a serious obstacle in the way of experiencing conscious sleep or the sensibility to the subconscious activity during sleep. In fact I could remember not only the dreams but that there had been spaces among them or a complete absence of any subconscious activity, a condition in which I was purposelessly conscious.
I was quite intrigued by those episodes in which tough sleeping, I suddenly become conscious during sleep, so I decided to investigate though I had not any method for it.
I concluded I should be more careful to the process of sleep itself and how it happens, I used to observe the process of the mind while I was falling asleep.
I observed that between the vigil and the sleep there was a third condition, a kind of
no-man´s land among them, it lasted only few brief moments before falling totally unconscious.
Subsequently I tried to be more aware of that third condition, trying to remain conscious of the process and somehow colonizing it, increasing the time I was conscious in that third position.
Invariably I would shift in dumb consciousness, but in a memorable occasion I clearly noticed that my whole consciousness had shifted through the process without any loss,
my physical body felt asleep, but instead of falling into dumbness I found myself perfectly conscious.
At first I had not a clear control over it, some night I would just fall unconscious and/or with sudden and short episodes of consciousness.
Knowing the positive influence on the brain of the affirmations, before sleeping I mentally repeated myself that I wanted to be conscious of the whole process, and I noticed that the combined affirmations and my conscience directed on and through the third condition, effectively produced a result because some time later I had no need anymore of such practices, shifting instead effortlessly through the whole process and while the physical body would fall asleep, I would found myself perfectly awake, not without surprise at first, but later I got used and it become just another ordinary activity.
This condition did not at all influenced the routinary restoring process of sleep of the physical body, nor had influence either on the subconscious activity in form of dreams, I was standing in between as a third power, a third condition: a mental being perfectly conscious in its mental body.
I consider that especially gifted individuals or having a peculiar strength of mind may easier succeed in experiencing conscious sleep, but for the average people is probably needed a purifying diet, reasonable activity and exposure to the elements.

Clarifying the Vision

I assume that the information I provide on the Vision (which Sri Aurobindo entrusted me/us) and other collateral experiences I relate is becoming material for reflection in several parts of the world. I´m aware of faithful readers in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world, readers whom I warmly salute, and in view that soon or later this interest may expand and reach students or followers of the Master in India or elsewhere, to which I guess the Vision is mainly directed because they own the keys to understand it better, I should resume here briefly some points  in order to clarify eventual possible doubts.

I  perfectly know the difference between a dream or a Vision, even though it may happen during sleep for given reasons.
The encounters with the Master happened mostly while I was myself in conscious sleep, not to be confused with lucid dreams: conscious sleep means to be perfectly conscious in the mental body while the physical is sleeping -and- the sub conscious is dreaming.
Conscious sleep, I discovered, allowed to severe the relation with both physical body and subconscious activity, while remaining in the awareness of being -perfectly conscious.
Man is a mental being said often the Master, and I had there the proof that it was perfectly so: I never had the sensation of missing something (the physical body) I was perfect as I was, in that mental body which was myself. I could never again identify with a physical body.
Nor confound the activities of that mental being (meeting the Master and the Vision) with these of the subconscious (dreams) which I had just left behind together with a sleeping physical body.

To erase the doubt that I may have confused  the "double" of Sri Aurobindo for himself, which existence is mentioned by Mother I believe, I should say it cannot stand because I seem to remember it almost wholly related with the vital plane, instead in this case it was wholly a mental experience and mental plane and mental being, an undivided consciousness and surely a condition of awareness where no mistake of perception is possible, to which I should sum up the deep reverence which I felt moved by the wonderful and glorious appearance of the Master and his concerned words.

The fact is I had not any special preference among Masters at that time  and I  similarly reverenced  Krishnamurty as much as Ramana Maharishi, and Ramakrishna as much as Yogananda, so there was no special reason why I should see Sri Aurobindo instead of any other Master. I wanted to keep a keen respect for them all but a serene independence because not much given to cult.
But instead, it was Him which I started to see relatively often in the course of a brief time.

I suspect was Him which I met in the experience of the fire raising from the sacrum,
which in a sense begins the series of encounters, but I could never confirm my suspect because the silent Presence left without identify himself. (see The Master of Wisdom and the Apprentice Visionary).

Though I was request the Vision to be known, the idea to present the Vision in the way I did  was my own, and it could not be otherwise, I considered that without any additional element on my life or at least on my experiences on yoga and self-discovering this work would not stand on a firm ground, and surely the additional information would be reason of reflection for any genuine researcher.

Any additional information I provide is true at least in my field of experience, and only given to help understanding certain given processes which one may meet discovering yoga.
For instance, I realized that some akashic vision I had during that same time where meant as learning tools because all of them had something in common: different manifestations of individual or group consciousness in early history of the human being. In that  way, the early history combined with the future of the consciousness on Earth of the Vision in a great ensemble, meaningful at least to me which was learning and discovering all that material.

I have also commented about some historical social movement, persons and facts of different order, and though I just express my opinion and certainly not that of the Master, yet I consider my comments do fit in what is generally known and what the Vision and my own power of vision suggests me.

I should recognize that the Vision made me grow in understanding, though my gratefulness goes to the Master which promoted it and demonstrated that he was kindly overlooking any sincere effort on my side without me knowing about it. And my conclusion is that the Master is able to follow the spiritual development of any he so wishes, and that his activity far to be extinguished with his death in 1950 is still of tremendous actuality even at this very moment.

To end, I have came to the conclusion that I should give a series with the same title which specify on certain subjects left without clarifying or not too evident in their conclusion.
I beg forgive my English as most of this work was done with a low connection which gave me quite a trouble at the moment to improve its presentation, may be some pious soul will sometime try and correct it. All what is written here may be freely translated and diffused without previous permission if treated with respect and in a similar context.

Conscious?

In my last post on the "Yoga of the Vision" (Sleep? Highways to Knowledge) in the first lines  I´ve written: "Your aim is to be conscious along the day, etc."
And as this blog is about Yoga and Vision and not speculations or worthless mental operations: what do we mean with "conscious"?
Because one can say: -Well, anybody is conscious everyday just because is alive isn´t it? So what´s wrong with it-?
True, we somehow drag our consciousness all along the day to fall into an unconscious sleep just to awaken again at some level of that consciousness and proceed again better or worst along the day and so on for several years if not a whole life.
What we generally describe as <to be conscious>  is an amalgam of different levels of attention (and distraction) depending on a series of reasons, mainly our own interests and motivations.

What we describe as useful for the Vision is a linear unmotivated attention, which is in itself meditation, which can be effectively installed into daily activity, but which is absolutely indispensable in Yoga and the Vision.

Physical activity is an impelling necessity for any living creature, but considering the case of humans, it has been created a dissociation between inner spiritual world and outer material world, and sitting meditation as the mean to reach that spiritual world.
Such an important fracture from inner and outer world, real and illusory world, spiritual and sinful world, it has been the root on  which any doctrine has based itself.
But it has started from a dividing attitude which is the signal of a lower mind at work,
of a mild attitude of spirit at the moment of considering the mind its processes and its functions.
Mind was successful in signalize what was spiritual and what sinful, but not in determine its own spirituality or sinfulness...

Back to sit in meditation, even when we know Enlightenment achieved sitting in meditation, this can´t be true in every and each case and not as an absolute, because meditation is unbounded by methods. We cannot imagine that we can resolve the complexity of spiritual understanding just sitting somewhere with closed eyes.
There must be something else, and in fact, there is something else.
Meditation is absolute freedom and absolute freedom of learning, and do not depend on any mental method and exercises we may ideate or others may ideate for that purpose, as meditation has to be alive, a living creation of the moment.

I was amused in learning Mother explain she never saw Sri Aurobindo sitting cross-legged! Should we infere by that he didn´t meditate?
I prefer how Krishnamurty would put it: he was himself meditation.

Sleep? Highways of Knowledge

The building of the global window is not theoretic matter.
This very night you may experiment with what I say.
Your aim is to be conscious all along the day, but, what happen with the night?
Are we really meant to sleep always at the same manner?..
I tell you what I discovered, and you can discover too.
Before sleeping we retract from surrounding reality, but before landing in total unconsciousness, there is a lapse of time, it is a very little time, in which our consciousness remains in between vigil and sleep.
Normally we do not notice that as many reasons may intervene, tiredness, wrong diet, habits etc.
But that point, it is a world in itself, it is a huge door through which the ancient oracles crossed for learning, or predictions, or visions.
I have crossed that door. So I know it is there. It has nothing to do with dreams.
I´m not saying I went very far in discover this dimension, since the peculiar level of attention which is needed was quite unusual, as I had to "remain conscious" in that half consciousness so to extend that moment (in between vigil and sleep) farther in time.
But often, the action of "being conscious" would interfere with  that half-consciousness and made me awake totally again.
I had to learn to be "unwillingly conscious" in that space.
I´m still learning I mean. I already said that, I´m an apprentice.

But that one is not the only option we have at that moment, it can be also the door to conscious sleep. Here intended -exactly- in the terms described in the integral yoga of Mother and Sri Aurobindo, and not lucid dreams, or astral projections or whatever.
In effect, we may say one can choose between three options at that moment:

1) one can extend the "half-conscious bridge" and penetrate into that region I described: one at that moment is not sleeping nor awake either, it is a suspension of functions, even the physical body do not really sleep but only half sleep.

2)Through that same bridge, one takes another direction, which is towards conscious sleep. So the physical body fall definitely asleep, and one fully retro cede from surrounding (physical) reality, but as we where conscious in that -middle land-
we do not fall into -unconscious- sleep but in -conscious- sleep.

3) To fall asleep totally unconscious.

What I´m calling here conscious sleep, it is in reality self-consciousness of the mental body while the physical is sleeping and the subconscious is dreaming.
As well,it is a door to mental world or dimension, but this world is not the same that one may accede in the "oracular sleep" (just to give it a name), they are quite different and even the mode of consciousness is totally different: in oracular sleeping one is strangely conscious/unconscious, instead, in conscious sleep one is not only conscious but -extremely- conscious.
So much so as to perceive ( see actually) our unconscious zone producing dreams and knowing (seeing) that it is not -us- but only an appendix of that consciousness, which roots seems to deepen into ancestral animal memories and functions.
(I could see a mental lower appendix attached to my consciousness, much as the lowest part of a spinal medula, and possibly it was exactly that but seeing it from a different, peculiar perspective: from within out. But I could freely detach myself from the unconscious part and remain in my full self-consciousness of me as a mental body).

But we should come back on it all afterwards.
The global window I mentioned at the beginning, is the window through which we look at reality. But is perception of reality -only- when we are conscious in daily activity, or is it a process extended in time -without interruption-?
If your experiments with sleep bring some result in the sense I exposed, no doubt you are talented for the Yoga of the Vision.
.....................................
Kit Chi on 17th Nov. 2013 wrote: I actually tried to experience what you said, and it was indeed as you said, that I was conscious of my physical sleeping and the subconscious dreaming, and I could choose to just watch the dream scape of my subconscious, or go experience something else.

Kit Chi, born in Hong Kong, is to me an example of how an independent mind, well centered and spiritually receptive may understand and actually experiment with integral yoga. She also informed me of a couple of visions she had of Mother and Sri Aurobindo little time after she learnt of the existence of the Masters. In the post "Awakening, a collective issue" (14/08/12), you may have a glimpse on her spiritual life.
